Why “Send It Back to the Sender” Can Backfire

Here is a question another survivor asked, and every survivor eventually has to face:

What happens if you know you are experiencing witchcraft, but you don’t realize that the source is you?

What happens if you ask God to send it back to the sender, only to discover that you are the sender, and you end up being the one who gets hit? Or you pray, “God, deal with them,” and He does then afterward you find yourself in more pain, more anxious, dealing with physical symptoms like body pain or difficulty walking, or even facing financial pressure.

This can happen because what looks like witchcraft is sometimes a part of you that was formed to protect you, a part that genuinely believes it is saving your life. When that part is doing what it was programmed to do to keep you safe, your system feels it as harm rather than freedom. In these situations, I would strongly caution against sending anything “back to the sender” without first inquiring inward.

Remember, every programmed survivor will have parts inside with the job to send stuff against the survivor whenever needed to make sure the programming stays in place and healing doesn’t occur.

Before looking outward to blame others, it is critical to stay in your body, slow down, and connect with your parts. Talk to them. Show them that you are safe now, that you are present, grounded, and not going to disappear or abandon them again. Let them know you are here for the long haul. This is where daily survivor-specific prayers become absolutely essential. If you are not praying them consistently, often more than once a day, you should expect internal backlash and external pressure, because there is very little spiritual covering otherwise.

Survivor prayers are designed specifically for those who have been deliberately mind-controlled; many standard prayers simply do not reach the places that were targeted and programmed. Over time, you can often tell how much freedom a survivor has by the prayers they pray, their ability to stay in their body, their willingness to sit quietly in God’s presence, and their ongoing work to reconnect with themselves and their parts.

Even when there is outside witchcraft involved, it is usually the parts of us that are outside of God’s will that are being targeted. That is why it is imperative to build a fortress within through specific prayers, daily system work, staying in our body, and learning to sit in God’s presence without striving, speaking, or performing. As these practices become consistent, safety increases, our understand grows, and freedom follows.

“When those who are experiencing righteous suffering ask God to send back His love and forgiveness to those who are sending curses, huge victories occur! Demonic strongholds are destroyed and hearts are changed. The Apostle Peter tells us that through righteous suffering we receive a blessing, and we also glorify Christ: ‘If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.’ (1 Peter 4:14)” ~Jo Getzinger, Prayer Warriors book page 19.
